Yacht Technical Management
‘…be proactive…Save Maintenance Costs, Reduce Downtime, Control Quality…’
Parsifal Yachting is the first Yacht Company in Greece which introduced the Infrared Thermal Imaging as Preventative Maintenance Method.
All equipment including Hull and Superstructure emit Infrared electromagnetic radiation which reveals friction, fatigues, structural stress, voids in Hull, electric problems, lamination failure, humidity problems, energy loss etc.
By invoking the Infrared Thermal imaging these problems are revealed before they become acute and expensive. Performing an infrared thermographic survey by our certified personnel the condition of all the equipment (electrical and mechanical), piping, structural (frames, bulkheads and cell) is revealed.
Parsifal Yachting performs the initial survey throughout a Yacht and submits survey report. The images are stored in database for each Luxury Yacht (for reporting and trending purposes as well) and periodically (every 3 months) new scans are taking place. The Parsifal Yachting’s Equipment Analysis System provides Crew with the capability to better monitor, evaluate and diagnose the condition of Yachts Equipment. The system allows the recording, play back, comparison, and analysis of the video files of infrared signals.
This is perfect for periodic checks of critical and auxiliary equipment and when repairs must be verified. New images can easily be compared to previous scans of the same equipment using Parsifal’s IR software.
Federal estimates show that an effective PtM program saves 40-45% over reactive maintenance.
Benefits of Preventative Maintenance:
– Operational excellence Detailed Knowledge of your equipment’s health condition allows Owners to achieve Operational Excellence
– Improved safety. Increased knowledge of your equipment means improved assets safety (electric and mechanical fire risks is eliminated)
– Saving Valuable Time and resources. Knowing exactly where to search for a fault saves valuable time and resources
– Improved maintenance schedule. Monitoring mechanical and electrical equipment is an extremely important factor in order to optimise machinery maintenance and thereby increase productivity
– Decreased energy consumption. Control and optimisation of energy ‘greedy’ machines result in higher efficiency and thus lower fuel consumption.
– Increased output. The condition and performance monitoring enable owners to produce greater output
– Reduced maintenance Costs. Periodic Overhauls are replaced by an only-need-to- replace maintenance process.
– Reduced insurance costs. Being able to predict and prevent faults puts Owners in favourable position to negotiate Hull and Machinery Insurance premiums
– No non-availability costs. Penalties due to periods of non-availability are avoided due to maximum uptime
– Increased uptime by reduced number of outages. Equipment problems identified at an early stage allow forced outages to be converted into planned downtime.
– Prevention of high impact low incidents. When predicting faults at an early stage, the plant is less likely to experience costly crashes.
– Increased availability=increased competitiveness. By predicting timely faults, the Maintenance Department can accurately schedule machine outages and thereby increase economic competitiveness.

Audits and Surveys
When addressing the issue of ISM auditing, Parsifal takes a supportive stance with the belief that a strong internal audit process is critical, therefore the role of the DPA (Designated Person Ashore) has been re-examined. Key roles involve close attention to monitoring the safety, pollution aspects of the operation of each Yacht and the Quality of services, ensuring that adequate resources and shore-based support are applied as required, and that each DPA has no more than 5-6 Yachts within their responsibility.
are taking place on board of each Yacht in order to discover Defects of the system, Non-conformance reporting, correcting actions or additional preventive actions to be taken and even redesign the system if deemed necessary. We are able to make adaptations along the way that suit the specific needs of each Yacht and Owners.
Parsifal has established a plan of periodic and no-scheduled surveys in order to ensure the implemented systems are strictly followed in case of a non conformity scheduled corrective actions to be taken in order to preserve the Yacht in the best condition
Our management team has an established 24/7 emergency contact – with the Designated Person Ashore (DPA), as an option for yachts who desire a more intense support system.
